Write Thai Letters

Watch the stroke order of the 44 consonants, trace them, and write them yourself. Each letter comes with its name (a word that helps you remember it, like ไก่ “chicken” in ก ไก่), audio, and writing tips.

Writing basics

Start from the head (small circle)Most letters have a small circle, and that is where you begin. Go around the circle, then extend the line. Only ก and ธ have no head.
Most letters take one strokeWrite without lifting your pen. The two-stroke letters are ญ and ฐ (with an ornament below) and ศ, ษ, and ส (with a flick or inner circle).
Some letters retrace a lineIn ค, ท, ล, ห, and others, you go down first, then retrace part of the same line before moving on.
Keep the height evenWrite between the top and bottom guidelines. ป, ฝ, ฟ, and ฬ extend above the top line, and ญ, ฎ, ฏ, and ฐ extend below the bottom line.
