Step 5 of 7
Numbers
From 0 to one million. The “1” in 11 and 21, and the number 20, change form. Includes prices and Thai numerals.
Rules for counting
- The final 1 in 11, 21, 31, and so on is เอ็ด (èt), not หนึ่ง.
- 20 is ยี่สิบ (yîi-sìp), not สองสิบ.
- 1,000 is พัน, 10,000 is หมื่น, 100,000 is แสน, and 1,000,000 is ล้าน. Unlike English, Thai has its own words for 10,000 and 100,000.
